This privacy notice describes how Life & Careers Ltd collect and use personal information you during and after your working relationship with us, in accordance with our legal obligations. Life & Careers Ltd is a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 10986709.
All references to "company", “our”, “us” or “we” within this Privacy Notice are deemed to refer to Life & Careers Ltd and its associates.
Life & Careers Ltd is a “data controller”. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. Life & Careers Ltd is a recruitment business which provides work-finding services to its candidates and clients. The Company must process personal data (including sensitive personal data) so that it can provide these services – in doing so, the Company acts as a data controller.
It is important that you read this notice, together with any other privacy notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal information about you so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information.

We collect the information necessary to be able to find and match available opportunities with candidates and further information needed to assess eligibility through the different stages of recruitment. This information includes CV’s, identification documents, educational records, work history, employment, details of activities during any career-break, and references.
We may also collect sensitive personal data about you, in the form of background reference checks, remuneration and compensation details passport scans and details. We ask for your consent to collect sensitive personal data from you, and further process this data.
Collecting and Processing Your Personal Information
The Company will collect your personal data (which may include sensitive personal data) and will process your personal data for the purposes of providing you with work-finding services.
The legal bases we rely upon to offer these services to you are:

We may also collect personal data which is publicly available on websites such as jobs boards, LinkedIn, or similar recruitment-related websites. We may use third-party applications which source their data from publicly-available websites.
This includes for example, contacting you about job opportunities, assessing your suitability for those opportunities, updating our databases, putting you forward for job opportunities, arranging payments to you and developing and managing our services and relationship with you and our clients.
In some cases we may be required to use your data for the purpose of investigating, reporting and detecting crime and also to comply with laws that apply to us. We may also use your information during the course of internal audits to demonstrate our compliance with certain industry standards.
How and why we use your personal data?
We rely on our legitimate interests to process your data provided it is reasonable and does not go against what you would reasonably expect from us.
- Managing our database and keeping your records up to date;
- Use your personal data to match your skills, experience, knowledge and education with a potential employer or to help find the right candidate for the employer. We may collect basic information on you such as contact details, job role and experience and then pass this on to the client in search of the right candidate. If you are chosen by the client and go through to the next stage we will then be collecting more information from you at the interview (or equivalent) stage and onwards in that manner and will seek your consent to do this.
- We will contact you by telephone, email or social media if we have an opportunity that we think might be suitable for you or someone you know.
- We may communicate with you on email about jobs, resources, events and webinars that we think will be directly relevant and useful to you.
- We may contact you to ask your opinion to assist us with the delivery of our services and for research purposes.
- We use other personal information you provided us with on an aggregated anonymous basis to understand the composition of our network. We do not disclose any of this information on an individual basis.

We may share your personal information with third parties where required by law, where it is necessary to administer the working relationship with you or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so.
